From the 1960s onwards, women were increasingly integrated into the stand presentations of automobile exhibitors, from the 1970s onwards they even became the main attractions in many cases and to this day it is impossible to imagine the stands at motor shows without them. This photo report looks back almost 50 years and uses many examples to show how women have given even confusing and inconspicuous cars a new shine.

Ever since the early days of the automobile, photo aesthetes have depicted technical achievements together with female charms. Women were also part of the Concours d'Elegance events from the very beginning. However, it was not until the 1960s that women were given a role at the world's motor shows that was visible to all. At that time, car manufacturers, concerned about the appeal of their own exhibits, began to focus on female qualities in the presentation of their cars. By the end of the sixties, stand models were already part of the standard repertoire. With sexual liberation around 1970, the British in particular began to increasingly expose the female body. TVR finally had several women appear completely naked at the London Motor Show, which caused an unexpected stir.
