Summary
The four Geneva Motor Shows of 1952, 1962, 1972 and 1982 show the progress and change in the vehicle industry over 40 years. Sports cars took center stage at all the shows, and in 1972 in particular, sensations had to be sought in the prototype sector. The omnipresent special body manufacturers had completely disappeared by 1982, whereas in 1952 and 1962 they were still responsible for a considerable proportion of the new products. This overview article combines a brief characterization of the four exhibitions, supplemented by impressive photo documents of the individual shows.
