Preview (beginning of the article)
It was a manageable number of cars that Bonhams auctioned off on October 7, 2016 on the occasion of the Zoute Grand Prix . There were 31 fully-grown vehicles in total, representing a total value of around 5.2 million euros. 27 were successfully knocked down, with total sales of the cars amounting to EUR 4.3 million or CHF 4.7 million. On average, just over EUR 150,000 was bid per car in the two hours that the auction lasted. Over a third of the cars came from the manufacturer Porsche. From the early Porsche 356 Pre-A Speedster from 1955, apparently the only one that was newly delivered to Belgium, to the brand-new 991 R from 2016, there was a respectable proportion of the entire Porsche range for sale.
