Summary
Bonhams presented a truly diverse range of automobiles at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elégance in Quail Lodge. 139 vehicles worth around USD 47 million were looking for new owners. 88 percent of them did so successfully at an average price of around USD 281,000 (incl. surcharge). Although the highest bids deviated from expectations by only a few percent on average, the variance was high, meaning that there were many surprises at the top and bottom. The most expensive car was a 1928 Mercedes-Benz 26/120/180 S-Type for USD 5.4 million, but a Fiat 124 Spider was available for as little as USD 6160. This auction review analyzes the results in detail and shows all the vehicles in pictures.

Preview (beginning of the article)
There was certainly no lack of variety in Bonhams' offerings on August 13, 2021 at the Quail Lodge & Golf Club in Carmel. The public turned up in large numbers and were able to enjoy cars, (almost) all of which were driven up. 139 vehicles went under the hammer in one afternoon, with a total value of around USD 47 million. On average, the cars were just over 54 years old. Racing cars, luxury limousines, hot rods, everyday classics, convertibles, special bodies, sports cars, neo-classics and many more were all looking for new owners in one day - there was certainly no shortage of choice at Bonhams.
