Summary
As part of the Goodwood Revival, Bonhams auctioned 82 cars for a total of GBP 10.2 million on September 18, 2021. On average, GBP 169,272 (EUR 198,048, CHF 216,668) was paid per car. 73 percent of the vehicles were sold. The most expensive car was a Jaguar D-Type advertised as a replica, which put original racing cars that raced at Le Mans, for example, in the shade. The average 65-year-old offering was dominated by British brands such as Bentley, Lagonda, Rolls-Royce and Aston Martin. This auction review analyzes the results and shows all the cars in pictures.

Preview (beginning of the article)
While outside on the start/finish straight on the occasion of the Goodwood Revival on September 18, 2021 , homage was paid to Stirling Moss, Bonhams offered 82 classic cars for sale at auction. Of the 82 cars that went under the hammer, almost three quarters came from British car manufacturers. Bentley (10 cars), Lagonda (9), Rolls-Royce (8), Aston Martin (7) and Jaguar (6) were most strongly represented, but there were cars from AC, Alvis, Bristol, Jensen and Riley, to name just a few examples from the 32 brands present. On average, the vehicles on offer were 65 years old and were expected to be worth an average of £181,976 per lot. While the bids leveled off at £ 139,549 and thus reached an average of 80 percent of the average estimate, 60 of the 82 vehicles were ultimately sold for an average of £ 169,272 (EUR 198,048, CHF 216,668). 22 cars did not find a new owner and two of the original 84 cars were withdrawn before the auction.
