Preview (beginning of the article)
Bonhams once again invited guests to Aston Martin's place of origin, Newport/Pagnell, to auction off almost four dozen products from the famous sports car manufacturer. On offer were 42 sports cars and limousines worth around £10 million (EUR 13 million, CHF 13.5 million). They were all built after the war from 1950 onwards. A good third of the vehicles were even less than 30 years old and as many as seven cars had not even lasted ten years. An average of £ 255,750 (EUR 305,369 or CHF 320,896) had been expected per vehicle, but the bidders proved to be stingier and offered an average of £ 206,109 (EUR 243,661 or CHF 267,126) including surcharge/commission.
