Auctionata "Classic & Race Cars" on October 29, 2016 - the bidders didn't want to click
Summary
The auction of 37 vehicles, which Auctionata organized together with Peter Schleifer on 29 October 2016, lasted almost four hours. As usual, the hammer was swung in Berlin, but the vehicles were shown and explained in Günzburg. The result is unlikely to have convinced the Auctionata managers, as only four vehicles were sold (some of which were conditional), despite the apparently very well-preserved cars, many of which were genuine rarities. This auction report describes the process, analyzes the results and shows the vehicles in pictures.

The auction of 37 vehicles, which Auctionata organized together with Peter Schleifer on 29 October 2016, lasted almost four hours. As usual, the hammer was swung in Berlin, but the vehicles were shown and explained in Günzburg. The cars on offer were both road and racing vehicles. The oldest car, a Mercedes-Benz 230 Cabrio B, was 80 years old, while the youngest, a Lamborghini Aventador SV, was just one year old. The values ranged from EUR 9000 (Fiat 500) to EUR 1.42 million (Ferrari F40). Excitement and potentially high sales were therefore guaranteed. In total, the value of the 37 lots was estimated at over EUR 8.3 million (CHF 9.1 million), so each vehicle was expected to fetch around EUR 226,000 or CHF 246,000, a high barrier to entry.
