Two years ago it was Alfa Romeo, on February 6, 2016 it was 48 selected Citroën models that Artcurial auctioned off on the occasion of the Rétromobile on Saturday afternoon. And where else could this take place than in the city where Citroën was once founded and where most of its models were built? Nine decades were represented by the auction offer, the pre-war share was considerable with 22 cars. And, of course, the famous Traction Avant models were not neglected with 10 examples. The result of the auction probably exceeded all expectations. Instead of the expected EUR 1.354 million, the auction brought EUR 1.562 million into the auction company's coffers. And instead of EUR 28,208, the average price of a Citroën was EUR 32,470. The fact that Artcurial was practically sold out at the end was certainly due to the fact that all cars except one were sold without a reserve price. However, the fact that the sales prices were on average 17% higher than the estimated values can be attributed to Artcurial's good preparation and staging of the auction.
