As engine performance increased, racing car designers pondered new ways to keep the ever faster cars on the ground and on track. In 1966, the Chaparral showed that you could generate a lot of downforce with a large wing, but the Swiss Michael May had already done pioneering work ten years earlier. Towards the end of the sixties, the wings became bigger and higher, which led to considerable problems. In this episode of "Technology in Conversation", the two buddies Albert and Exbert discuss the evolution of the wing in the automobile.
