Rally Monte Carlo 1989 - Group B is forgotten

First place in 1989 went to Miki Biasion (as in 1987), second place to Didier Auriol and third place to Bruno Saby, all in Lancia Delta HF Integrale cars. The Lancia dominance continued. Out of 172 starters, 109 (over 63%) made it to the finish. As early as the fourth special stage, Biasion began to pull away and never relinquished the lead. Overall, the rally was just as fast as last year. The average speed of the fastest special stages (weighted) was around 86 km/h, the same as in the last Group B rally in 1986.
