Schwäbisch Alb hill climb near Kirchheim/Teck. BMW tuner Hans-Peter Koepchen stands on a meadow called the paddock and, together with his mechanic Frowein, looks at the two white and blue BMW 2002s with satisfaction. Young talent and newcomer Hans-Joachim Stuck, just 18, has once again blown everything away in the timed practice runs. I'm a respectful second. As so often this season. The year is 1969 and the Koepchen BMW is the measure of all things in the two-liter touring car class. The young Stuck drives around the corners in such a way that everyone is terrified.
