The history of the first German post-war car brand actually began long before 1945. BMW businessman Lorenz Dietrich, staff sergeant Schorsch Meier (the "cast-iron man") and engineer Ernst Loof, once a partner in the small motorcycle factory "Imperia", forged plans for the future together: Loof wanted to build sports cars after the war, Meier was to drive them and Dietrich was to sell them...
