Summary
The Iso Grifo A3/C was stylistically an early Giugiaro and technically a masterpiece by Giotto Bizzarrini. In the first half of the sixties, the small Italian brand was able to shine at Le Mans. The last major appearance at Le Mans in 1966 ended in a fiasco. Subsequently, small series were produced and the company went bankrupt in 1969. This report tells the story of this rare sports car and is illustrated with many contemporary and current pictures.

The Iso Grifo A3/C was stylistically an early Giugiaro and technically Giotto Bizzarrini's masterpiece.In the first half of the 1960s, the small Italian brand was able to shine at Le Mans. However, the last major appearance at Le Mans in 1966 ended in a fiasco. Subsequently, small series were produced and the company went bankrupt in 1969. On June 19, 1965, the classic 24-hour race in the French department of Sarthe was already dominated by the later legendary "Battle of Le Mans". Henry Ford II has made a 13 million dollar budget available, as he wants to beat the Europeans with his GT-40 racing cars and the Cobra-Daytona coupés.
