Few cars look as funny, almost clumsy, as the Autobleu 750 Mille Miles as it crouches on the cobblestones of the small French town. With its exaggerated lines - from the tiny passenger compartment leaning forward to the mighty headlight bays and the long tapered rear end - the coupé would be the delight of any car comic artist. But the shapes of the Autobleu were anything but a joke. On the contrary, the little racing car is a very serious piece of French automotive history. It was measured at more than 170 km/h on the Montlhéry racetrack and was able to take on far more powerful opponents at the Mille Miglia in 1954 and again in 1955. In the end, it did not win, but more on that later.
