With a small engine but impressive speed records, the extremely rare French Autobleu 750 Mille Miles from 1954 had to put itself in the limelight with its aerodynamics. Despite its sad end, it has become a French legend. This report looks back and shows the car in its current condition.
Like Enzmann in Switzerland, Siata in Italy, Dannenhauer & Stauss and much later Bitter in Germany, or Alpine in France, Autobleu was a small series manufacturer that built an individual sports car on the basis of large-series limousine technology components. The history of the Autobleu company also has similarities with Alpine, Abarth or Siata. But hardly anyone knows the name today. This report goes into the history of Autobleu, describes the vehicles produced and shows them in pictures and, above all, a rare sales brochure, including a price list.
