There are classic car meetings that have been a fixed part of the agenda of classic car owners and other interested parties for many years. The annual meeting of the "Friends of Nostalgic Cars" (FNAfor short) is one of them.
In 1975, a small circle of enthusiastic owners of old vehicles came together for the first time in Alpnach to share their enjoyment of the cultural heritage on wheels. Since then, the ever-growing group has met at various locations, with Neuheim being chosen as the venue in 2011
The location could not have been more perfect. A museum beckoned with many treasures to be discovered, and parking spaces with roofs allowed convertible drivers to park their unlocked vehicles in the dry.
However, the organizers around Martin Kolb were not lucky with the weather. And the fact that events were also taking place in Zug and other locations on the same day did not make things any better. Nevertheless, many rare vehicles found their way to Neuheim, such as a pair of Tatra T 57 A/Bs, which are probably only rarely seen together, or a Marmon racing car.
The special thing about the FNA annual events, however, is the meeting of rarities with everyday cars from days gone by, which are now considered rarities themselves. Opel Kapitän, Opel Taunus 17M P2 or VW Beetle may hardly be seen on our roads any more, but they are regular guests at the FNA.
Our picture gallery gives a small insight into the range of vehicles.
