What do vegan poultry meat and American V8 engines have to do with each other? Little to nothing. However, things were different on 14 August 2021 at Motorworld Kemptthal, as the columns of people picking up vegan chicken mingled with those attending the hybrid meeting, which was organized by the Jensen Club for the second time.

This was not a major problem, and while the buyers from "Planted", who often arrived in electric vehicles, gathered at the ramp further up the Maggi factory site, the drivers of Jensen, Facel-Vega, Bristol, De Tomaso, Sunbeam, TVR, Triumph, MG, Monteverdi, Iso Rivolta, Reliant and others gathered in the lower section and marveled at the Mazda MX-5, which was equipped with a Ford V8 five-litre engine.
Mixed constructions
As in 2020 , cars powered by American V8 or six-cylinder in-line engines were again primarily invited in 2021, but a Ford Essex V6 engine was accepted as a hybrid component, as was the four-cylinder unit of a Porsche 356 (in the rear of a Bonito).

And even a Facel Vega Facellia F2S with a self-produced four-cylinder engine was not held against the visitor.
All classic cars were welcome anyway, they were allowed to park a little higher up so as not to panic the core of the hybrid constructions.
And of course there were also interesting vehicles to be seen among these vehicles, some of which were also equipped with engines that powered a "hybrid" car elsewhere.
Rarities non-stop
There was certainly no shortage of rare cars.
The four-door Facel Vega Excellence was rarely seen at classic car events and only a few of the De Tomaso Mangusta were built.
The Monteverdi Sierra is a very special hybrid, as a significant part of the vehicle design originates from the Plymouth Volare.
Of course, the Sunbeam Tigers, of which almost a handful arrived in Kemptthal, or the various Jensen models, whether they are called 541, C-V8 or Interceptor, are not everyday cars either.
Social get-together
Once again, Kemptthal was all about meeting like-minded people, talking petrol and perhaps discovering one or two cars that you hadn't seen before.
The fact that the number of vehicles was somewhat smaller than at the first event a year ago was perhaps due to the hot weather, but also to the vacation season, which drew a particularly large number of people away from home in 2021.
