On Sunday, September 7, 2014, a major Concours d'Elégance was held near Paris for the first time in many years under the name "Chantilly Arts & Elégance Richard Mille" and it lived up to the high expectations.
First edition with many highlights
The first event, the result of two years of hard work by organizer Peter Auto, who has built his outstanding international reputation with two major historic car events - the Tour de France Auto Optic 2ooo and the Le Mans Classic - celebrated its return to French soil with the Concours d'Elégance. This great national tradition from the 1920s was revived last Sunday in Le Nôtre Park at the Château de Chantilly.
The program included a demonstration of 10 concept cars from various manufacturers. In addition, three world premieres were held this weekend: The Aston Martin Zagato, the DS Divine and the French version of the Peugeot Exalt. In addition, the McLaren P1 GTR was presented for the first time in Europe, having already celebrated its world premiere in Pebble Beach in mid-August 2014. The Concours d'Etat brought together some 100 special vehicles from the greatest collections around the world, divided into 10 classes.
Finally, there was a third concours - the Grand Prix des Clubs - which welcomed almost 500 vehicles and awarded prizes for the most beautiful club line-up as part of the Déjeuner sur l'Herbe.
The event impresses in all areas
The first edition of Chantilly Arts & Elegance Richard Mille attracted almost 10,000 visitors, which must be seen as a great success for the premiere. Savoir vivre and savoir faire were celebrated here in an inimitable French way. The success has already encouraged Peter Auto to work on the second edition in a year's time, probably on the first Sunday in September 2015.
Peter Auto is satisfied
As the organizer, Patrick Peter said that he was very happy with the first edition. Of course, he was eager to see the reactions of the international participants. And they were very positive. He is certainly to be congratulated on the successful start.
