Today, the former economy model is threatened with extinction. He is not fast. It is not big. It is not unique. It was not even produced in a small series. It was not expensive to buy and was not taken to the USA by a GI only to be discovered decades later in a scrapyard in Arizona as an unrecognized rarity. It is truly not an object of speculation and never will be. He is the opposite of all that, an "underdog". Its siblings were passed through and used up, if they survived the German scrappage scheme of 2009 at all. Today, the car has largely disappeared from the streetscape and is on the verge of being forgotten. We are talking about the VW Polo. No, not the fast Polo G 40 with a G-charger and 113 hp. But "just" a normal Polo hatchback, a hero of everyday life.
