The conclusion of the test in the specialist magazine "hobby": not a run-of-the-mill car, but a real sports instrument for drivers who are not afraid of harshness or the problems that the Spitfire imposes on the driver in its waywardness. Is the Triumph Spitfire really the best sports car in the lower price range? Well, if you put sports cars and price in relation to each other, according to the motto 'a lot of sport for the money', then the calculation works out. Its engine and driving performance undoubtedly put it at the top. But what other requirements are needed to give it the title of primus inter pares - i.e. first among equals? Our colleague Eugen Karl Schwarz took a critical look at the Spitfire.
