Cars with so-called sporty lines, especially two-seater spiders and coupés, have been enjoying increasing popularity for some time now. Among these models, there are very striking and therefore well-known types and some that are much less talked about. It is often said that young girls tend to marry the ones that are less talked about. It doesn't seem to be quite the same with cars - or should that have changed with the young ladies too? The Simca 1000 Coupe undoubtedly belongs to the group of lesser-known cars. The only way to explain this is to compare it to a tailor-made suit. Its elegance is more restrained, more unobtrusive and only reveals itself on closer inspection. The whole thing is without tricks and gimmicks, usually very solidly made and not exactly cheap. This also applies pretty much exactly to the Simca Coupé. Its "tailor" is of course unmistakably Italian, and its price is such that it will never be able to please a large group of buyers for the performance it offers. This model appeals only to the individualist.
