Summary
For the 1974 model year, Porsche presented a completely revamped 911 as the so-called G-model. The new 911 not only proved itself in the test reports, but also in what is probably the only endurance test carried out by AMS magazine. This vehicle report portrays a Porsche 911 with 150 hp from 1975, summarizes contemporary test reports and shows the car in current and historical pictures. Enclosed are the sales brochure, price list, color charts and press documents. A complete documentation.

How does a Porsche perform in everyday use over 60,000 km? Car magazines rarely dared to carry out long-distance reliability tests on sports cars. Not that readers weren't interested at the time, but hardly any manufacturer in the 1970s would have agreed to have the cost of their product assessed in pennies and nickels. But in 1974, the men from the magazine Auto Motor und Sport managed to get hold of a Porsche 911, a so-called G-model, and drive it day in, day out for 60,000 km over a year and a half, recording every incident. When Porsche presented the Type 901 at the IAA in Frankfurt in 1963 as the designated successor to the tried-and-tested 356, there were doubts as to whether customers would really accept the new model. One year later, the 901 became the 911 and there was no longer any need to worry about acceptance. Over the next few years, displacement and engine power increased, reaching their peak with the 911 Carrera RS 2.7 in 1972. The six-cylinder boxer engine car had become a successful model.
