The small town of Bradford is many hours away from the center of the English automotive industry. Could this be the reason why "different" cars were built in this Yorkshire village? Cars that not only looked different from the average English car, but also differed from it in technical terms. Benjamin and William Jowett had already built their first car with a 2-cylinder boxer engine in 1906. They stuck with this concept for thirty years (until 1935) until they, like all other manufacturers, launched four-cylinder engines on the market much earlier. But now they were again boxer engines. The cars built by Jowett Car Ltd. in small numbers were mainly sold in England.
