After the end of the plastic cars produced by Willi Martini, the famous German racing driver and designer, the two aircraft engineers Clemens Ahrend and Otto Betzner continued in their own hall in Wershofen. Together with Helmut Kretschmann, an aircraft engineer from Beuel near Bonn, 10 coupés with gullwing doors were built between 1969 and 1972. At the 1969 Essen Motor Show, the attractive sports coupé with BASF Leguval plastic bodywork and lattice tube frame as well as the mechanicals from the NSU TT was presented. The vehicle was designed for both road use and racing. The front and rear axles and the engine were taken from the NSU TT. A tubular frame supported the lightweight plastic body. The car was very reminiscent of the Porsche 904, which was also the first racing car with a plastic body to be built by Porsche in 1964.
