Summary
At the end of 1970, Ford Cologne decided to build high-performance models for fun and sport itself in future and to sell them through a network of selected dealers. The first product of the Ford subsidiary AVO was the RS 2600, a 150 hp Capri for DM 16,000. In the first test, the hot-rodded Capri revealed its sporting talent - as well as an almost unquenchable thirst.

The top model in the Capri range to date was the Capri 2600 GT, priced at DM 11,135.52 with XLR equipment. It is sold through the entire Ford dealer network. The new top model in the small series is now the Capri RS 2600, which costs DM 15,799.74 in the basic version. It is sold and serviced exclusively through the newly formed network of Ford Rally Sport dealers. The Capri RS enjoys a great deal of overtaking prestige on the open road. Of course, this is also due to the fact that this model is still unknown on the highways. The RS appearance also looks particularly impressive in the rear-view mirror: very wide tires and rims, lowered suspension and, of course, the missing bumpers give this super Capri a beefy look overall.
