Summary
In 1975, Fiat replaced the 128 Coupé launched in 1971 with the three-door 128 Berlinetta, a much smoother vehicle with more utility and roughly the same performance data. The car was well received, but was still only built for around four years, which is why the number of cars in existence today is relatively small. With its classic and elegant appearance, it is now a welcome guest at car meetings and rallies. This driving report looks at the characteristics of the Fiat Coupé, compares it with its predecessor and shows it in many pictures.

In spring 1974, Volkswagen provided the blueprint for what a modern coupé should look like with the Scirocco. Fiat was able to follow suit in September 1975 and now also offered a smooth coupé with a tailgate as the successor to the Fiat 128 Coupé, called the 128 3P Berlinetta, i.e. a coupé with three doors.
