Summary
If a "normal" Ferrari was not exclusive enough for you in the sixties, you could also buy a 500 Superfast with a Pininfarina body. This made it the most powerful road-going Ferrari and also the most expensive. Only 37 examples were built over the course of two and a half years, each one basically unique. This report is dedicated to the fifth-last Ferrari 500 Superfast and tells the story of the model series, illustrated with current and historical pictures.

This would have made it the most expensive car in the price lists, but the price was usually only given verbally. That didn't stop the world's rich and famous, including Peter Sellers and the Shah of Persia, from pulling out their chequebooks. It was no coincidence that the Ferrari 500 Superfast celebrated its premiere on the Pininfarina stand in Geneva. After all, the design came from there, from the pen of Aldo Brovarone, and the bodywork was also made by hand there.
