Photo Gallery «Three generations of Volkswagen put to the test - KDF 1939, Beetle 1952 and 1962»
In 1962, five million VW Beetles had already been sold, and nobody could have guessed that this figure would one day reach 20 million. But even then, people wondered about the long-lasting success of the model and wanted to know how the latest examples from 1962 differed from the original model from 1939 or the post-war version from 1952. The magazine 'hobby' brought the three together for comparison. This article reproduces the original wording of the test report from back then and shows the three generations of Beetle in many historical pictures and the original model even in its original sales brochure.
