Opel presented the new Opel Rekord (P2) in 1960. The magazine 'hobby' took its pulse and came to the conclusion that even in its new version it had remained exactly what it should be in terms of the perfect car psychology of its creators and had to be in its class, namely a reliable mid-range car with plenty of space and good comfort. In the world of the relationship between man and car, which plays such an important role in our time - no matter how you feel about it - there are different groups from a psychological point of view. There are those cars that we dream about, usually only from a distance; then there are those that we 'put up with' even though we are fully aware of their limitations, simply because we need them as a means of transportation; and then there is the third group that lies in between. Within certain tolerances, these cars are at the lower end of dream cars or at the upper end of useful 'workhorses'. Psychologically speaking, they seduce the buyer into a compromise between dream and necessity.
