Forty years ago, tuning was already very popular, but instead of electronic refinements and high-wattage hi-fi systems, classic engine improvements and additional instruments were high on the list of priorities. Back then, a rare Volvo 123 GT was equipped with almost everything the tuning catalogs had to offer. Now it has been rolled out of the garage for the first time in several decades and has a very special charm. Volvo was known for sporty yet safe and robust cars. The "Amazon" model was no exception. It also looked smart and was equipped with neat features, especially in the "123 GT" version. The Swede also won over a Swiss man and his family, in whose service it reeled off many kilometers. After a few years, the car was passed on to the son, who had been constantly struggling with an all too unreliable vehicle. The Volvo seemed like a good alternative. But the new owner obviously didn't find the Volvo he had received as a gift individual enough, because in the years that followed until the end of the 1970s, he installed almost every conceivable accessory in the car and also gave it an impressive performance boost.
