Among the many new small cars that have been launched in the last two years, the BMW 600 from Munich stands out externally with its steep front end and front door. The unconventional appearance is also matched by the unusual design of this small car, which is highly remarkable in many respects. The front half of the extremely compact four-seater resembles the two-seater BMW Isetta cabin scooter; the space-saving two-cylinder boxer engine located in the rear is a refined further development of a BMW motorcycle engine; in striving for a particularly high standard of performance, driving characteristics and equipment, the basic features of the large BMW luxury saloons can be found again in a car category to which the Munich plant has returned after a break of almost 25 years.
