Summary
If you opt for the third series Alfa Romeo Spider, you can save a lot of money without having to sacrifice much, because technically the Spider "aerodinamica" was close to its predecessor. Behind the steering wheel, the differences are minimal anyway. Only a little bit of rubber speaks against the cheap purchase. This driving report focuses on the Alfa Romeo Spider 2.0 of the third series, built between 1983 and 1989, and shows it in current and historical images as well as in the sales literature.
This article contains the following chapters

The film "The Graduate", in which Dustin Hoffman as student Benjamin Braddock chugged through the USA in the red Duetto (round-tail, "Osso di Sepia") Spider with lovesickness (and stopped without gas), would not have been necessary. Nevertheless, the Alfa Spider, which was built from 1966 to 1993, is still associated with this film, which was shown in cinemas in this country as "The Graduate". The round rear Spider had already been discontinued in 1970 when Pininfarina cut the rear end, resulting in the "fastback" version with fewer curves, a shorter overall length and yet more trunk space.
