In 1983, Zagato and Bertone each presented an Alfa Romeo coupé with a V6 engine at the Geneva Motor Show. The two designs could hardly have been more different. Despite close-to-production technology, neither prototype made it into series production and today they are long forgotten.

At the 1983 Geneva Motor Show, two new cars stood virtually opposite each other, which could hardly have been more different despite having almost the same technical basis. While the Alfa Romeo Zeta Sei by Zagato seemed to look back to the past and featured elements from the sixties and seventies, the Alfa Romeo Delfino by Bertone presented itself like a messenger of the future. The technology for both cars came from Alfa Romeo and was characterized by one of the best-sounding V6 engines. While the Bertone coupé was based on the rather unobtrusively designed Alfa Sei saloon, Zagato used the sportier GTV6 as its basis.
