Among the 1.6-liter cars, this is a special car for DM 13,990: Alfa Romeo equipped the Alfetta with the engine from the Giulia Super, which was boosted to 108 hp, simplified the equipment somewhat and thus offered an interesting car for gourmets on a tight budget. However, it should not be too tight either. An Alfetta is basically not an economy car, for that there has long been the Alfasud. Alfetta was once the name of a famous Alfa Romeo racing car. The Alfetta production car was designed with the same uncompromising racing technology as the 1800/121 hp engine presented in May 72. The 1600/108 hp version was launched in January 1975. This Alfetta 1.6 is no heavier empty than the structurally old-fashioned Giulia (1600/105 hp), but larger inside and for luggage. This is why the Alfetta's five-speed gearbox is stepped to slightly higher revs in relation to speed (rear axle reduction ratio 4.3 instead of 4.1), resulting in a slightly higher rev range.
