While the competitors in the mid-range only offered mundane four-cylinder engines, Fiat offered its customers a smooth six-cylinder with the 1800 B. The 1.8-liter engine was refined, quiet and easy to rev. Only its own temperament could quickly become the six-cylinder's undoing. This article reproduces a test report from the Motor-Runschau of 1962 and reveals what the testers scribbled on the clipboard at the time.
