While in the mid-fifties the last English manufacturers were also saying goodbye to the design language of the thirties, Morgan stubbornly stuck to free-standing mudguards and running boards. However, the drive was allowed to move with the times. This was a good thing, as it resulted in one of the most impressive sports cars of the post-war era. This article summarizes the evolution of the Plus 4 and describes the driving impressions from the cockpit of a 1956 model with a Triumph engine.
