13 studies and prototypes as well as three motorcycles from the long history of Audi AG are the new protagonists on the paternoster in the Audi museum mobile in Ingolstadt. In line with the title "Back to the future", the museum is presenting contemporary witnesses that are only rarely on display. The special exhibition is open from now until the end of March 2020.
Old acquaintances ...
For connoisseurs of the brand, there are numerous opportunities to rediscover "old acquaintances" and almost forgotten representatives of innovative engineering and design imagination. For example, the spectacular NSU record-breaking car from 1963, which with its 500 cc engine set records over one kilometer and one mile with a flying start in the USA and on a closed section of freeway.
Nostalgics still remember the NSU Ro80 2+2 from the pen of designer Sergio Pininfarina.
... and more recent concept cars
Fans of the brand's more recent history will be more enthusiastic.
The Audi quattro Spyder, which was presented at the IAA in Frankfurt in 1991, rotates over four floors on the paternoster.the Audi AVUS quattro (1991 in Tokyo), the Audi AL2 Open End Prototype (1997 in Frankfurt), the Audi quattro Steppenwolf (2000 in Paris), the Audi Avantissimo (2001 in Frankfurt), the Audi Nuvolari quattro (2003 in Geneva), the Audi e-tron concept car (2009 in Frankfurt) and the Audi quattro concept (2010 in Geneva).
Motorcycles too
Motorcycle enthusiasts will also find special machines on the newly equipped paternoster. At the start of production in 1966, the Münch 4 TTS was the most powerful road motorcycle in the world with its 1200 cc. Also on display is the prototype of the Audi motorcycle from 1977, although the great motorcycle tradition under the predecessor brand DKW was never to be revived. The motorcycle trio is completed by a Van Veen OCR 1000 with Wankel engine.
