The Concours d'Elegance Bürkliplatz, which has already been held ten times as the start of the RAID Prologue, has mutated into the Zurich Classic Car Award, which will take place on August 21 this year.
In 2012, 94 exclusive classic cars took part in the Concours d'Elégance and the subsequent rally from Zurich to Basel.
In its new form, the Zurich Classic Car Award is now only dedicated to honoring around 60 premium vehicles from all eras. The raid is expected to start at around 5 p.m. and lead to Basel in a night stage.
From 10.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m., classic car enthusiasts will find time and leisure in the center of Zurich, directly on the lake. Exclusive vehicles from all over Switzerland are expected.
A magnificent backdrop, over 60 classic cars and an extensive program
Around the music pavilion, visitors can expect to see a selection of around 60 well-known and rare classic cars. Vehicles and brands from the pre- and post-war period will be represented. Contemporary witnesses from the beginning of mass motorization will not be missing, nor will tinny luxury creatures from the 60s and 70s.
An independent jury made up of representatives from the major media will evaluate the classic cars on display. Awards are presented in accordance with guidelines and in categories that will be published at a later date on www.zcca.ch.
The public can also have their say. Visitors will vote to select the winner of the "Trophy Publics Favorite 2013" public prize.
Interested participants, visitors and media representatives can find further information at www.zcca.ch
