In the 1980s and 1990s, the automatic rod aerial was a feature of the upper vehicle class. Over time, however, the characteristic aerial became increasingly rare. They were replaced by increasingly unsightly stub aerials, which were later followed by disk aerials.
Today, the retractable rod antenna is making a real comeback as a stylish and functional detail on classic vehicles. That's why Blaupunkt is reissuing the self-retracting telescopic aerial. With the Autojet 25, the company now offers an electrically extendable motorized antenna for fender mounting that even comes with the option for DAB+.
Classic design meets modern technology
The Autojet 25 is an electrically extendable FM antenna for the 87.5 to 108 MHz frequency range. It has five telescopic sections and is powered by 12 volts. The screwable connection cable (M10×75 to DIN plug) with a cable length of 1.4 meters enables uncomplicated and flexible installation.
The antenna is attached via a 14.5 millimeter diameter hole in the bodywork. This allows the antenna to be easily retrofitted to many vehicle models. In conjunction with active splitters - such as the Blaupunkt DAB-S-22a (DIN-DIN/SMB) - it is also ideal for DAB+ reception.
Switches off and on automatically
Once connected to the power supply, the cool antenna automatically extends when the radio is switched on and retracts when it is switched off. Blaupunkt offers the antenna in black or chrome so that the rod blends harmoniously into the appearance of the vehicle. It elegantly lends a classic or modern car the style of past decades and at the same time combines modern reception technology.
