Lamborghini came up with something special for the birthday celebrations. The 50th anniversary was celebrated with a drive along the legendary roads that featured in the 1969 film "The Italian Job". The Great St. Bernard was chosen as the setting back then, but in the film the Miura crashed into a Trax in the middle of the tunnel and only emerged as a wreck.
The museum classics fared much better in 2016 and the fathers of the Miura were also invited to the celebration: Engineers Gian Paolo Dallara and Paolo Stanzani met the designer of the Miura masterpiece of the century, Marcello Gandini, who worked for Carrozzeria Bertone at the time.
