Polished chrome veterans, uncompromising muscle cars and the unmistakable V8 engine sound - for over ten years, the US Car Meeting has been attracting thousands of visitors to the Technik-Museum Sinsheim on the first weekend in August. On August 5 and 6, 203 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., casual old and youngtimers, curiosities of the home-built brand and current models will roll onto the spacious open-air grounds. Live music, awards and a BBQ in proper style round off the offer. On both days, fans of the rolling cultural heritage built on the other side of the Atlantic will come together from all over the region to celebrate the "American way of life". Information about the US car meeting and registration options can be found on the website.
The museum organizers are putting together a varied program for both participants and visitors: In addition to the hundreds of US vehicles as well as exhibitors all about the American dream car and lifestyle, there will be a lowrider show for the first time. A promotional team from the Stuttgart Surge, an American football team, will present itself with an eye-catching vehicle, as it did at the meeting in the year before, and inspire visitors for this sport. The popular awards ceremony is also a must this weekend. An expert jury will inspect and award prizes to the participating US automobiles and then present the proud winners to the public.
The year 2023 is all about the Chevrolet Corvette for US car fans. The car manufacturer from Detroit presented its first sports car 70 years ago - the rest is successful history. To mark the occasion, Mario Brunner, classic car enthusiast and author of the book "Chevrolet Corvette: 70 Years - 70 Stories", will give a laudatory speech on America's No. 1 sports car on Sunday. The museum team is also planning a Corvette show run. And what would a US car meeting be without the finest live music? "The Lucky Rockets" will provide the atmosphere on the museum grounds on both days. They will receive musical support from "Rock 'n' Roll & Petticoats" on Saturday and "Fate" on Sunday. The museum's catering team will also be offering food from the grill, even into the evening on Saturday. Both visitors and participants can round off the evening with an after-show BBQ and cool drinks.
