This automobile brand stands for stylish elegance, creative design and innovative technology; it makes the cuore sportivo of car lovers beat faster and it celebrates its 110th anniversary on June 24. We are talking about Alfa Romeo. Its extraordinary company history is characterized by great successes in motorsport and timeless icons. The Technik Museum Sinsheim is dedicating a special exhibition to the traditional Italian brand in its new exhibition hall and is extending it until January 6, 2021.
The car with the mysterious brand logo
It is June 24, 1910 when the company "Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili" (A.L.F.A.) is founded in Milan. The automobile with the mysterious brand logo has always been a port of call and a hub for important personalities of the past century: designers such as Pininfarina and Zagato worked for the company and created timeless classics of automotive history. Racing drivers such as Tazio Nuvolari, Enzo Ferrari and Jean Alesi, as well as engineers and designers, developed the brand further and brought it to life. Legendary racing victories, the art of engineering "made in Italy" and a striking design helped the sleek Milanese to achieve cult status.
Don't build - create
At Alfa Romeo, the focus was not just on the car, but on an entire attitude to life. After all, the cars were not built, but created, according to Alfa Romeo Germany. "In our exhibition, together with the Museo storico Alfa Romeo from Arese, we are presenting an overview of the history of the company in both motorsport and design. This begins in the pre-war period with top models such as a 6c Mille Miglia from 1938 and continues with design icons such as a 1300 GTA from 1969 through to cars with rarity value such as an Alfasud (built in 1972) by Hähn Motorsport," comments exhibition curator Moritz Dressel on the content of the exhibition.
The Technik Museum Sinsheim keeps the special exhibition alive and keeps changing the vehicles - so the Alfisti get to see new exhibits every few weeks. A visit to the exhibition is always worthwhile, especially during the car brand's birthday week: the museum operators are offering visitors a 20% discount on all Alfa items, with the exception of books, in the museum's own store and online. "Mythos Alfa Romeo" will remain open until January 6, 2021 and is accessible daily from 9 a.m.
