Following the decision of the Swiss Federal Council on April 29, 2020 to prohibit the holding of major events with more than 1000 visitors until the end of August 2020, the planned alternative date (August 15 and 16, 2020) for the classic car fair originally planned for May 23/24, 2020 can no longer be implemented.
Canceled despite good pre-booking status
With a heavy heart, organizer Bernd Link has to cancel the Swiss Classic World 2020. The next event will therefore be held in Lucerne on May 29 and 30, 2021.
In addition to the requirements of the Federal Council, there were other reasons for the organizer to make this very difficult decision:
- Holding Swiss Classic World 2020 even later in the autumn would again be too close in time to the next date in May 2021 for many exhibitors. This was repeatedly expressed in many individual discussions with participants.
- In addition, it seems doubtful whether consumer behavior in an overall economic situation described by all sides as a "recession" can really be a good prerequisite for a sales fair. For this reason, Bern Link had to decide to suspend 2020 and return in full force in 2021, especially in view of the costs and effort required by exhibitors to ensure a successful appearance.
Bernd Link would like to thank all participants and partners for their solidarity in these difficult times.
