The international classic car trade fair Swiss Classic World is entering its fourth round this year. The event with over 600 participating classic cars has secured a permanent place in the four halls of Messe Luzern. Around 200 exhibitors and over 10,000 visitors are expected on May 27 & 28, 2017. Special shows on the Swiss brand Nonteverdi and the 100th anniversary of the Swiss coachbuilder Tüscher, a fashion show by LU Couture and a large number of club stands are the highlights. In addition, there will once again be a comprehensive parts market, a private classic car market and a separate hall for US vehicles and accessories.
With its ideally located, modern exhibition grounds in the heart of Switzerland, Lucerne offers the best conditions for a classic car event. The picturesque location on Lake Lucerne and the excellent accessibility of Lucerne's Allmend for exhibitors and visitors speak for themselves. It is therefore hardly surprising that the Swiss Classic World classic car fair is increasingly becoming a crowd-puller.
Last year's visitor numbers of over 8500 (+ 20%) already indicated this. Interest from exhibitors has increased significantly once again, with practically all four halls fully occupied - and the organizers are also expecting another increase in visitors this year: Bernd Link and his team of organizers are expecting around 200 national and international exhibitors and around 10,000 classic car enthusiasts on the weekend of 27 & 28 May 2017.
Monteverdi and Tüscher
A highlight of this year's classic car fair Swiss Classic World will be the special show of the Swiss brand Monteverdi. The vehicles of the Swiss manufacturer of luxury automobiles from the 1960s and 1970s will be prominently presented in Hall 2.
In cooperation with the Swiss Car Register from Safenwil, the 100th anniversary of the Zurich-based coachbuilding company Tüscher will also be celebrated with a number of interesting exhibits.
The supporting program will once again include a high-quality fashion show by Lucerne fashion atelier LU Couture, which will fit in perfectly with the classic car theme. There will also be new nostalgic tours on a historic Auto AG Uri bus as well as vbl-Historic bus shuttles to the Swiss Museum of Transport in Lucerne.
Classic motorcycles will play a far greater role at the SCW2017 than in previous years. Together with the "Freunde Alter Motorräder" (FAM) club, a number of suppliers will be showcasing classic two-wheelers at the trade fair.
This year's SCW2017 will once again offer an extensive, exciting classic car parts market and a special hall for US classic cars, where there is guaranteed to be plenty of action. In addition, there will once again be a private classic car marketplace where anyone can spontaneously and easily offer their vehicle for sale.
Plan your visit now
Swiss Classic World will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 27 and 28, 2017. A total of 10,000 visitors are expected, who will be offered a lot.
Bernd Link comments: "We are deliberately focusing on quality rather than quantity. Our trade fair is the meeting place for all friends and fans of classic vehicles". Swiss Classic World has clearly occupied an attractive niche in the field of Swiss classic car events - it is complementary to existing events and does not compete with them.
