On July 22, 2014, historic racing cars and motorcycles will once again be doing their laps on the concrete velodrome in Oerlikon. "Indianapolis Oerlikon" is the name of this hot evening with good reason.
The atmosphere is always great and the weather plays along almost every time. Should this exceptionally not be the case, there is an alternative date on July 24, 2014. An earlier announcement shows what the event is all about and why it is so popular.
Straw bales for more safety
The exponents of IGOR, Interessengemeinschaft Offene Rennbahn Oerlikon, Georg Kaufmann, organizer; Jo Kaufmann, head of motorcycles and Karl Marti, race director, are very concerned about the safety of riders and spectators. That is why new straw bales are to be installed in 2014. This is an expensive pleasure. In the worst-case scenario, if all the straw bales have to be disposed of, the costs would amount to 14,000 Swiss francs, which would be beyond IGOR's means. That is why a support association is to be founded. As it is not possible to do all this in the short term, there is a provisional option for 2014.
"Sponsor" straw bales with 10 francs
Fans and friends of the event are now being sought who are willing to sponsor the idea of "Indianapolis in Oerlikon" with 20 francs. However, only 10 francs are actually intended for the straw bales, the rest is a prepaid entry fee.
So if you pay 20 francs in good time, you can go to the event in Oerlikon as a visitor with the payment receipt at no extra cost.
Payment procedure - this is how it works
The 20 francs can be paid by post or bank using a self-completed payment slip, which should contain the same details as the sample shown in the following illustration.

After the event, an association will be founded, the working title is currently: SuStrO = "Supporter Strohballen Offene Rennbahn Oerlikon".
