From January 31 to February 4, 2024, the Autodrome Linas-Montlhéry will be honored at the Salon Rétromobile. To mark the 100th anniversary, visitors can look forward to a large special exhibition in the halls of Paris Expo Porte de Versailles.
Located in the south of the Île-de-France region, the Linas-Montlhéry racetrack is a symbol of French automotive history. The high-speed track near the two towns of Linas and Montlhéry has been the backdrop for numerous records. On the occasion of its centenary, Rétromobile is organizing an exhibition that takes visitors on a fascinating journey through the years, illustrating the life and history of this major scene of automotive innovation.
The 2500-metre long high-speed circuit with its banked turns, which have an incline of up to 54 degrees, established the reputation of the Autodrome. Montlhéry was born in 1924 from the passion of Alexandre Lamblin and has been the scene of world-famous races and world record attempts over the years, pitting the world's best drivers against each other. Although the Autodrome UTAC Linas-Montlhéry is no longer used as a race track for safety reasons, it is still a test center for manufacturers and a popular venue for historic events.
At Rétromobile 2024, the Autodrome Linas-Montlhéry will be presented in a 500 m² exhibition organized in collaboration with UTAC (the current owner of the circuit) and the Vintage Revival Montlhéry association. Visitors can discover a selection of around 20 vehicles that have marked the history of the circuit, from pre-war models such as the 1925 Bugatti Type 36/35A Grand-Prix and the 1928 Amilcar MCO Grand-Prix to more recent vehicles such as the record-breaking Peugeot 404, the McLaren F1 GTR or the Ferrari F40 GT.
