In keeping with the beautiful weeks so far, the Audi Museum Mobile is presenting the new special exhibition "Chasing the sun! The history of vacations at Audi." From August 8 to October 28, 2018, museum visitors will learn, among other things, how the Germans became "travel world champions" and what role the automobile played in this.
In addition to exciting exhibits from the early years of camping, the new special exhibition also features cars that people used to explore the world in the first half of the 20th century, the most recent exhibit being an Audi Q3 with a special Audi camping tent.
A pre-war camping caravan with a DKW F5 Meisterklasse convertible saloon from 1935 will also be interesting to see, as will a DKW F89 Universal (1951) with a wooden body, the only model of a DKW F800/3 Westfalia camper van (1956), a Trabant P601 with a roof tent (1986) and other NSU models.
The exhibition organizers had an interesting idea to make the exhibition even more lively: The memory box.
As a stylistic element for the automotive exhibits, they use pedestals that are surrounded by a large wooden frame. The depth effect creates the feeling of looking into an open box.
