Together with Slowly Sideways
Rallying, a central discipline of motorsport, fascinates with its spectacular cars, its varied routes and the closeness between drivers and public.
To celebrate this world, the Musée National de l'Automobile - Collection Schlumpf in Mulhouse (Alsace) has teamed up with Slowly Sideways to organize the exhibition "Les Légendes du Rallye".
Four decades of rally history
The exhibition begins at the end of the 1960s with the famous Renault 8 Gordini, with which many champions started their careers, and ends with Sébastien Loeb's Citroën C4 WRC, a car full of emotion for the driver, with which he won his seventh world championship title in Alsace.
Each car tells a unique story: the victory of Alpine and its A110 in the first World Championship, the introduction of the turbocharger with the Renault R5 or the legendary Lancia Delta S4 of Group B driven by Henri Toivonen.
Among the exceptional vehicles, visitors can also admire the Supercinq GT Turbo, champion of the Côte d'Ivoire Rally, preserved in its original condition with the African dust still visible.
The patron of the exhibition, Michele Mouton, will see two of her former racing cars on display: the Audi Quattro in which she shone at the Acropolis Rally in 1984 and the Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 in which she became German champion in 1986.
