Ever since barn finds from the Baillon collection were auctioned off in Paris for many millions, the "forgotten treasures" have been the talk of the town. But classic car fans have been fascinated by abandoned classics for much longer.
From the aristocratic Bugatti to the everyday classic
Until October 11, 2015, the Pantheon Basel, Forum for Classic Cars, is exhibiting around forty magical and spectacular barn finds. These include a Bugatti from Lake Maggiore and a Porsche 356 that was fished out of Lake Lucerne. An aristocratic Bugatti 57S Atlante, which has been waiting for its renaissance in an English garage for over 60 years, is also on display.
The exhibition catalog tells...
The exhibition catalog provides details about the exhibits and background information. It also reports on the incredible barn find near Poitiers in 2014 and on the cleared historic car cemetery in Kaufdorf. Some of these Kaufdorf exhibits can be admired in the special exhibition Barn finds.
