Route 66 Auctions is auctioning this violet blue BMW 850i until November 6 at 8:00 am. As if special color 490 wasn't already exclusive enough with just 35 E31s painted in this shade, this 1992 model has a matching nappa leather interior in two shades of violet as a unique selling point.
The discreetly extroverted twelve-cylinder coupé was ordered by a German hotelier in 1992, who kept it until 2009. Subsequently owned by a BMW branch for eleven years, the 850i has been with its current owner since 2021, who had the car completely stripped of paint and repainted in its original color. The refurbished interior is still the first one.
The BMW has run 145,000 kilometers to date and is currently in the Carpathian foothills in Poland, but has German papers. Viewing appointments can be arranged via the auction house. Contrary to what the name might suggest, Route 66 Auctions is not an American company, but belongs to E&R Classics, one of the largest dealers for classic vehicles in Europe. Further photos and details of the auction can be found on our vehicle market.
